Codelab Educare Ltd. was founded in 2024 with a bold mission: to create Africa’s first government-accredited tech diploma programme that could compete on the global stage while remaining accessible to all Africans, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Our founders recognized a critical gap in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem. While coding bootcamps were proliferating, few offered government-recognized credentials. Meanwhile, traditional universities struggled to keep pace with industry needs. Young Africans deserved better: rigorous, industry-aligned training that would be recognized by employers and government alike.

After two years of curriculum development and regulatory approval, we became the first institution in Nigeria to receive NBTE accreditation for the National Innovation Diploma in technology fields. This achievement positioned us to train the next generation of African tech professionals with credentials that matter.

But accreditation was only the beginning. We knew that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. That’s why we launched the Sandbox Initiative alongside our paid programmes, committing to provide free, high-quality tech education to 10,000 young Africans who cannot afford it.
